Important notice for Autodesk® Maya® 2010 software, and prior version, users on Apple® Mac OS® X 10.6.3 operating system.
Please be aware that in Autodesk testing of Maya 2010 and certain prior releases with the recently announced Mac OS X 10.6.3 operating system, Autodesk discovered a compatibility issue.
The issue: A buffer is not preserved, so the viewport or other windows in Maya 2010 or prior releases will flicker with any interaction.
If you upgrade to Mac OS X 10.6.3, you may encounter this issue. At this time, Autodesk recommends that Maya 2010 and prior release customers do not upgrade to the Mac OS X 10.6.3. The Autodesk and Apple teams are working to resolve this issue and will notify Maya 2010 and prior release customers once the issue has been resolved.
For Maya 2010 and prior release customers that have installed Mac OS X 10.6.3, Autodesk has a proposed workaround in place.
The workaround is as follows:
- Once Maya has been launched, do not launch any additional applications as this may trigger the issue.
- If the problem does occur, restart the Maya software and this should resolve the issue.
- If the problem persists, revert to Apple® Mac OS® X 10.6.2 operating system.
Note: As of this time, the announced Autodesk® Maya® 2011 software is not qualified to run on Mac OS X 10.6.3. Please consult the qualification charts for more information.
