When using EXR as the output format Maya render files, it groups the render passes and embeds them all in one file. If you want to output multiple passes in the EXR format, open the render settings , RMB click in the “file name prefix” field and insert the render token “<RenderPass>. Now the passes will come out as separate files in the EXR format.

Photoshop doesn't recognize any exr extra channel, but if i remember well ther is a plugin called PRO-EXR to read everything from this format. The reversed channels is related to Fusion not Maya, in Nuke for example everything is fine.

well - I guessed that.
but here an other question: my channels came out in a flipped order, when rendering 32bit rgba openExr.
Photoshop doesn't recognize anything and within fusion I have to reorder my channels.
When rendering to normal float it works - but this is no option . . .
pleeeaaase help
